Smithills Open Farm
Bolton, Greater Manchester · BL1 7NS
Smithills, on the hills above Bolton, is a hosted farm birthday: pets corner, a donkey ride if the child is tall enough, a tractor ride, and a cold buffet. Adults and babies under one have been free, which is the rare farm that does not punish you for staying. It suits the under-eights who still want to hold a chick. It will not impress a guest list that wanted a theme park.

Food and drink for the adults
If adults are free, they are still not on the children's buffet unless the page says so. There is ice cream and a café. Say whether parents are invited to eat or to supervise.
Good to know
Donkey rides have a height rule. The tractor is the bit grandparents tolerate. Download their invite rather than inventing the meeting point.
