Kent Life is a museum farm — historic buildings, animals, space — and it takes birthday bookings as venue hire rather than as a soft-play clock. That suits a guest list that can walk and look, roughly four to nine, and it bores children who wanted a slide the size of a house. Maidstone is easy to reach. The site is not a shopping-centre play frame.

On-site parking at Sandling, ME14 3AU. Say Kent Life, not 'Maidstone Museum', or you will lose people in town.

Food and drink for the adults

Heritage sites are better for adults than a bowling alley, which is why grandparents tolerate them. Food is there. It is not included just because the children have a party platter.

Good to know

It is still a farmyard. Shoes you can wash. Ask which buildings the party may use and whether animals are part of the booked hour or just the backdrop.
