Eureka! Science + Discovery
Halifax, West Yorkshire · HX1 2NE
Eureka is the indoor answer for curious children who will not sit through pass-the-parcel. Packages include a host, a private lunch window and time in the galleries; the dearer one adds a workshop. It is genuinely good from toddlers up to about eight or nine. Older primary children can still enjoy it, but they will race the galleries and be done before the adults have finished coffee.

Use the museum and Piece Hall car parks in Halifax town centre and follow the party arrival time. Town-centre parking is the bit that goes wrong — the invitation should say which car park, not just 'Halifax'.
Food and drink for the adults
The birthday organiser is included free on the published packages, and there is café food for adults beyond the children's lunchbox. Do not rely on the party room as a two-hour adult social; the galleries are the point.
Good to know
Arrive about 15 minutes early, as the museum asks. Tell them about allergies when you book, not at the lunch hatch. Galleries are busy in school holidays even with a party booking.
