Planet Ice birthday parties are skating sessions with the fuss handled: skates, a bit of ice time, and a party add-on rather than you trying to reserve a public session with a backpack full of cake. Children who have never skated will spend the first ten minutes on the barrier. That is normal. It suits primary age up through early teens; tinies in skates are a different, slower sport. Parking

Rinks hide inside leisure complexes. Use the postcode from the booking. Gloves live in the car boot all year, which is the one useful habit this party rewards.

Food and drink for the adults

Spectator galleries and a café are the adult experience. You do not have to skate. If you do, you will be the entertainment. Hot drinks are the offer; a full roast is not. Tell parents whether they are invited onto the ice or into the party room.

Good to know

Socks are required. Glasses straps are not fussy, they are how you still have glasses afterwards. Public skate and a private party overlap in some buildings — arrive at the party time, not at the public session before it.
